This brochure introduces RAVON, the Dutch NGO dedicated to the conservation of reptiles, amphibians, fish and their habitats. Supported by nearly 2,000 volunteers, RAVON collects and validates distribution data, coordinates long-term monitoring programmes and advises governments, water authorities, land managers and other organisations. The publication explains how citizen science contributes to national databases, atlases and Red Data Lists. It also highlights habitat restoration, species conservation plans, breeding programmes and research into wildlife diseases, migration, artificial light and environmental DNA.
